Healing York Playback

Healing York Playback is a theatre project based in York, PA started to raise the level of community discussion around racism and other prejudices. A spin-off of the Healing York Initiative begun in 2006, we provide an avenue for healing past hurts and opening dialog around charged issues particularly through the magic of Playback Theatre.

Playback Theatre is a simple improvisational form in which members of the audience tell stories and watch them played back on the spot. As the stories come alive on stage, audience and players become entwined in a community dialogue that is both deeply personal and powerfully universal.

The performance-dialog series is now launching, including a schedule of rehearsals, workshops and multi-media performances coming soon to a location near you. Subscribe to keep up with it all!
